Irish Wolfhound - Dogs 101

The Irish Wolfhound (a breed of sight hound) is considered to be the tallest dog in the world on average, despite a Great Dane holding the record, and they feature a large, muscular body that resembles that of a Greyhound as well as a shaggy coat that typically comes in grey. The breed dates back almost 2,000 years when they were first gifted to Rome, and was later famously bred for the core objective of hunting wolves in Ireland, which is where their name comes from. Their giant size and gentle, easygoing nature as well as their patience with children and other animals make the Irish Wolfhound a great choice for almost any household spacious enough to handle such a large dog.
